1. Software & driver installation

   You should have received a 10-page printed setup guide with your Multiplexed interface.
   (If not, please contact us)
   
   Please follow the printed instructions to install the necessary drivers.
   
   The latest MultiECUScan software installer should be on the interface's internal SD card.
   However it can also be downloaded for free from: www.multiecuscan.net (download linked from the front page)
   
   

2. Software activation

   *** Caution! - Security Gateway ***
   If you've bought the package for a 2017 or newer vehicle, click here BEFORE you activate the software license!

   Many FIAT group vehicles from the 2018 model year onwards (sold from mid-2017) are fitted with a Security Gateway (SGW) module.
   This sits between the diagnostic socket and the rest of the diagnostic system, and prevents everything except read-only access to the car, unless the tool can supply a session-specific security code from FIAT's servers.
   Low-cost aftermarket tools such as MultiECUScan do not have access to those servers, and so can only access read-only data on vehicles fitted with an SGW (unless you physically bypass the module).
   
   If you have bought the package for a 2017 or newer model, do NOT activate the software license immediately. (Once activated, the value of the software license cannot be refunded).
   
   Unfortunately the multiplexed interface cannot be used by the MultiECUScan software until the license has been activated, so we cannot use it to check for an SGW before activation. Therefore if you are unsure if your vehicle has an SGW you activate at your own risk.
   If unsure, please contact us with the vehicle details, and we may know more.
   
   To activate the software on a new interface, all you need is the serial number of the interface.
   This is a (tiny) 8-digit number on the label of the interface, beginning WTC.....:
   
   
   
   
   You need to use this serial number to generate a license key on the MultiECUScan Distributor License Activation page:
   
   www.multiecuscan.net/registermultiplexed.aspx
   
   
   • MultiECUScan will then email a license key to you (check your spam/junk folders!)
   • Connect the multiplexed (CANtieCAR) interface to the PC by the USB cable
   • Open the MultiECUScan software and click the blue 'Register' button in the bottom-left corner.
   • Copy and paste the license key from the email into the License Key box in the software.
   • The MultiECUScan software will validate the code against the interface serial number, then close and re-open in Registered mode.
